Meet Liwa

She notices the little things.
Especially the ones everyone else misses.

Liwa Anjali Fatima

... but everyone just calls her "Liwa".
She is five years old, with a German mum, a dad from Kerala, India — and a heart full of love, kindness and questions about the world.

Liwa has her mum’s shyness and her dad’s charismatic way of filling a room.

In a new place, she may stay close to Annama at first, watching and listening. But curiosity always wins. Soon she’s talking, laughing, asking questions.

Liwa has her parents’ love of adventure, too. New places, roads beyond the main streets, going off-road — she always wants to know what might be waiting around the next corner...

The story behind her name

Her name carries a little bit
of her parents’ story.

Liwa comes from their love of the desert — the place where her mum and dad first met.

Anjali was inspired by the
Bollywood films her parents both love.

Somehow, the spirited girl — brave, strong-minded, loyal to what she believed was right, always ready for an adventure and usually a little bit of a whirlwind —
so often seemed to be called Anjali.

Her parents had a feeling their little girl might turn out just like that.

They were right.

Very "Liwa" things...

Brave words come first.
When Liwa feels too shy to say something, she whispers it to Annama first. Sometimes he repeats it a little too loudly.

The idea finger.
When she’s thinking hard, one finger goes to her cheek: “Hmm… hm-hm.” The moment an idea arrives, up it goes: “Wait!”

She apologizes to things.
Bump into a chair? “Sorry, chair.” Walk into a curtain? “Excuse me.” Annama is usually happy to answer for them.

And wherever Liwa goes, a little star goes with her — right there in her hair.
